John Partridge (born 24 July 1971 in Radcliffe) is an English actor, dancer, singer, panelist and television presenter, who is probably best known for the role of Christian Clarke in the long-running BBC television soap opera East Enders, having joined the cast in January 2008.He has worked extensively as a singer and dancer in musical theatre, portraying Rum Tum Tugger in the official film production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical Cats.Branagh felt that the script that screenwriter Chris Weitz wrote lived up to that challenge and it convinced him that he was the right man for the job.“I was particularly surprised by how emotional it was, and that really caught my imagination and it felt like we could do something significant inside the story with just her character, while still delivering a classical version of it.” Weitz concurs with Branagh on this, putting importance on that even though Cinderella in this version of the movie is a more modernized woman she is still true to her original character from the animated classic.
9 August, 2017 The New Victoria Theatre has announced that soap star Shane Richie will rob from the rich and give to poor aided by comedian and actor Peter Piper as Friar Tuck and West End leading lady Ashleigh Gray as The Spirit of Sherwood in this year’s spectacular pantomime Robin Hood from 9 December 2017 to 7 January 2018.
For Branagh the job was to translate that virtue and character into how the movie was shot and make sure that he left the audience feeling it too.
“We definitely wanted an immersive experience, unabashedly romantic and full-blooded, but we wanted to feel like we earned it the entire time.
Partridge later returned to the West End cast of the show prior to its closure in 2002 and has also appeared as Rum Tum Tugger in the German production in Düsseldorf.
Partridge's TV appearances include The Hot Shoe Show, a documentary called Aspects of Dancing, and BBC2 comedy Game On where he portrayed a predatory gay gym member attempting to chat up the sexually confused lead character Matthew.
